the majority of Team Awesome before our Atlanta Women's 5K post-race brekky at american roadhouse (jenni, aimee, cassi, lauren, and missi)...missing are ree, adrienne, myself, and another really tall rower who's name i forgot...

the MARATHON trip...

across the country (and back) in a day...

Q: "what did you do st. patty's day weekend?"

A: "i didn't celebrate, did not imbibe any alcohol, and went to (almost) canada and back in a day." :)

here's the visual travelogue of my journey. it is probably of little interest to those perusing it, but i don't scrapbook. or journal things. so this piece of the world wide web will count as my travel memoir.

mom at the airport (you can barely see the newly-sleep-drug-dosed elizabeth in her carrier in mom's lap)...and then it's time for me to head out... 

my travel companion for the duration - little sara ann. we get acquainted as we head out of the airport. 

sara ann sticks out her little pink tongue and settles into her bed (for all of 10 minutes...she spent the rest of the trip snoozing on the fur coat in the "way back" of the rav 4 

I've made it from the airport to ohio -- it wasn't that far...

This is what made my trip - the ipod played for all but 20 minutes of the trip...and then i was reveling in the fact that michigan actually had country music stations...here, i'm listening to dar williams... 

i think this was a picture of toledo....i can't quite remember... 

Ugh....what makes dayton (and the rest of ohio) ugly.

i had this cool idea to take pictures of quality billboards..however, this was one of the only ones i actually got...they come and go by too quickly...plus it's MUCH harder to take pictures out the side instead of out the windshield... 

this was just weird...an american flag hanging from a crane...plus, it looks "backwards" from the angle i'm coming from... 

speedometer shot -- and see that little yellow light over near the right (just to the left of the fuel gage)...that's right - i had the cruise control on....

the bridge crossing the ohio....i am still kicking myself b/c i inadvertently deleted the coolest picture of the trip...a head-on view of the bridge i was driving over...so, just imagine the cool steel girders... 

yeah - i'm in kentucky!! where are the horsies? and the KFC? 

the fancy bathroom at the truck stop i had lunch at in florence...however, this picture didn't do the bathroom justice - it was huge, plants everywhere, a seating area, and very CLEAN. quite shocking....
